Webb County Appraisal District Tax Parcels

Webb County Appraisal District (Webb CAD) attempts to: 1) identify all real and personal property, and 2) then value each parcel. Their primary mission is to divide the property taxes paid to entities in the county as accurately and equitable as possible. Webb County Appraisal District had 177,011 tax parcels in 2021 and 34 appraisers to value them and conduct tax protest hearings. That works out to 5,206 tax parcels per appraiser.

Webb County Appraisal District has a lean level of staffing. We estimate about 25% of appraisal district appraisers work on valuation while the balance work on measuring new property and other inspections. We further assume the appraisers have 3 months or 66 days to complete valuations. Based on these assumptions, an appraiser at Webb County Appraisal District completes 316 valuations per day during the valuation period. The Webb County Appraisal District is required to provide a value for all real property and business personal property in Webb County annually.
