Webb County Appraisal District - Total Value of Parcels

Laredo is a center of international trade, but the totality of Webb County’s value spreads far beyond the city. Worth a combined $44.72 billion in 2024, Webb County is one of the top economic regions in the state that lies outside of the Texas Triangle. Made up of 179,300 parcels, Webb County is one of the largest in the state. However, the Webb County Appraisal District (WCAD) is understaffed for such a large endeavor, leading to errors in appraisal and value. Join O’Connor’s Property Tax Protection Program™ today and file an appeal to help lower your property taxes. Enroll, relax, and save.

WCAD Tax Parcels

Texas has some of the highest property taxes in the nation, and as property values bloom across the state, taxes will increase as well. Real estate values act as the basis for property taxes, which means any spike usually leads to a tax increase. These values and tax rates both change annually, making possible tax bills unpredictable at best.

O’Connor is here to help, by supporting appeals, exemptions, and even lawsuits against WCAD and other appraisal districts. For over 50 years, O’Connor has been getting Texans fair property tax reductions, and is equipped to get even more thanks to being one of the largest firms in the nation. There is no cost to join, and you will only pay if O’Connor can lower your taxes.

WCAD Total Number of Parcels in District

Webb County is one of the bigger counties in Texas, measuring 179,300 parcels as of 2024. Parcels bundle all real property together so that it can be accurately appraised and taxed. Despite having only 30 full-time appraisers, WCAD was able to appraise every one of these parcels. This may have required shortcuts, like mass appraisals or estimates, but it is still impressive. These shortcuts can lead to mistakes that need to be fixed via property tax appeals.

Total Market Value for All Property

As of 2024, the total value for all property in Webb County was $44.72 billion. This has been growing for over a decade and is double what it was a decade ago. Webb County is valued higher than other counties with larger populations, such as Lubbock. This is because trade is at the center of the county’s economy, making it an important area for both the state and the nation.

Industrial property was the largest when it came to value, reaching $19.82 billion. This was followed by residential real estate at $13.76 billion, which was a new record for homes. Commercial properties hit an all-time high at $10.10 billion, while apartments hovered around $1.04 billion.
